Amount of compensation that Russia must pay to Ukraine — MP
The Russian Federation must compensate Ukraine for damages. Currently, it is about almost 490 billion dollars.
This was stated by MP of Ukraine Oleksiy Leonov during the broadcast of "We — Ukraine" on Friday, December 6.
What compensation should Russia pay to Ukraine
As Leonov noted, Russia must already compensate Ukraine for damages in the amount of almost 490 billion dollars. This conclusion was reached at the World Bank.
"Our partners said on this issue that Russian assets in the West will remain frozen until the conflict ends, and the specified amount is paid to Kyiv," the MP noted.
Leonov added that the first funds from frozen Russian assets will begin to arrive in Ukraine in the near future. According to him, this money should be a serious support.
"The first funds from frozen Russian assets will begin to arrive in the near future. It is worth noting separately that thanks to the operational actions of the Ukrainian Parliament, which made amendments to the Budget Code, the funds will be considered conditional debt obligations. There was no such concept in the Budget Code," the MP noted.
As a reminder, Reuters noted that the use of frozen Russian assets worth $300 billion would strengthen Ukraine's position in the war for three years. Such a decision would also encourage Russia to conclude a more favorable agreement.
US President's National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan reported that the White House is developing a strategy to support Ukraine. We are talking about $20 billion in loans and new sanctions against Russia.
