Ukraine has received $1 billion from the United States. This amount was provided by revenues from frozen Russian assets.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this via Telegram on Tuesday, December 24.

Transfer of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine

According to the Prime Minister, this is the first tranche of the planned $20 billion that the US is ready to allocate through the use of frozen Russian assets within the G7 initiative.

"We thank our American partners and the World Bank for this important step towards justice," Shmyhal noted.

He added that Ukraine is counting on the confiscation and allocation of all sovereign Russian assets to the restoration of settlements.
