Ukraine received $485 million from the US and the World Bank

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced that the World Bank has allocated $485 million in financial assistance to Ukraine within the PEACE in Ukraine project. A significant part of this amount — $465 million — was provided by the United States through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), another $20 million was allocated by the World Bank.

Denys Shmyhal reported this via Telegram today, December 27.

Financial assistance to Ukraine

"The funds will be used to compensate for social and humanitarian expenditures of the state budget," Shmyhal emphasized.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the United States, USAID, and the World Bank for their significant support to the Ukrainian people.

It should be recalled that at the end of November, Ukraine had already received $4.8 billion from the World Bank.

Previously, Denys Shmyhal also announced that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will allocate a tranche of $1.1 billion to Ukraine. These funds will be used to finance important budget expenditures.
