Ukraine has received another tranche of $1.1 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The funds were provided as a result of the successful fifth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.

This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal via Telegram on Wednesday, October 23.

What the IMF funds will be used for

According to Shmyhal, the funds from the IMF will be directed towards covering non-military budget expenditures.

"About $1.1 billion from the IMF has already arrived in Ukraine," the statement says.

The Prime Minister noted that this tranche was received as a result of the successful fifth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, totaling $15.6 billion.

The head of the government also expressed gratitude to the IMF for its consistent support of Ukraine, and added that preparations for the next program review have already begun.

Earlier, we reported that the updated IMF Memorandum after the fifth review of the Extended Fund Facility program does not contain any commitments for Ukraine to raise energy tariffs. The schedule of tranches for 2025 has also been optimized.
